Our relationship with Cardiff North Taekwon-do School started through various personal links with the Storey Arms Centre. The centre provided outdoor activities for the School to raise money for other charities. As mutual respect and friendships grew, the School offered to raise money for the Friends of Storey Arms and a busy couple of years resulted in a lot of activities, a lot of laughter and quite a considerable amount of money raised!
Our friends at Cardiff North Taekwon-do School still support us and we look forward to more joint events in the future.
Supporting outdoor centres and enthusiasts
Up and Under has been supporting the outdoor enthusiasts of Cardiff and further afield for decades. It is a privilege to share a chat with Norman Carter and Sara Rhoden – and their team – benefiting from their knowledge of outdoor activities and the best equipment to use.
They support many of the outdoor centres in South Wales, sourcing and developing kit that is perfect for young people and adults to explore the great outdoors.
Norman and Sara’s children have attended the Storey Arms Centre in the past and they have seen the value that it can bring. They have kindly committed to on-going financial support for the Friends of Storey Arms.

The Storey Arms Outdoor Education Centre opened its doors in 1971 and has helped thousands of young people in Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan and across the original South Glamorgan area.
Using the outdoors and adventurous activities, the centre offers day and residential visits to schools, educational establishments and other organisations from throughout the UK and abroad.
They allow us to use the facilities at the centre and we book their staff when we offer outdoor activities as part of our events to raise money for them. It truly is a partnership!
