Fantastic Fundraisers

Once again, our friends at the Cardiff North Taekwon-do School pulled on their walking boots and headed for the hills.

This time they were tackling an event dreamt up by the Storey Arms Centre team – “The 3 Peaks of South Wales”.  The day-long event on 6th September 2025, was designed to allow as many people as possible to join in – they could do one, two or all three of the peaks – and raise money for the Friends of Storey Arms.

An early start up Y Garth (307 metres above sea level), just outside Cardiff, was a gentle warm-up before heading up the A470 to Bannau Brycheiniog and the Storey Arms Centre.

The second peak of the day was more than twice as high – Fan Frynach (629m) – with great views all around.

Not surprisingly, Pen y Fan was the final mountain in the challenge – 886m – the highest point in southern Wales and England.

Pen y Fan has become the CNTKD school’s favourite mountain and is included in most of their challenges!

Before heading back down the to the Centre for a well-earned dinner, some of the team re-created a photo that started the relationship between us all, more than 10 years ago!

The only way to finish such a fun day out is with a fun evening in!  Lovely food, served up by the CNTKD team, and a chance to relax and swap stories.  Some stayed overnight and headed home after breakfast the next morning.

A total of around 50 people of all ages took part in the day and we look forward to finding out just how much money they have managed to raise for the Friends of Storey Arms.

Diolch yn fawr pawb!
